COSAFA Under 17 : Zambia disqualified for using over age players

Zambia have been booted out of the COSAFA Under 17 Championship taking place in Mauritius

Football Kenya Federation had lodged a complaint with Cosafa organizers after they had lost to Zambia 4-0 in their opening match of the tournament in Mauritius.

Prior to the tournament, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) took all the under 17 players through an MRI scan and six players were even dropped.

The disqualification is said to be over the use of overage players during the tournament and among them one being striker Nicholas Mulilo.

A number of Kenyans and Zambians though questioned the use of Mulilo whose pictures circulated all over Social media and stated that he looked overage.

Kenya are now through to the semi-finals of the competition after the young Chipolopolo were tossed out on Thursday
