COSAFA Under 20 Competition was well organised

Cosafa under 20 games had ubank on  board as one of their stakeholders

South Africa under 20 did well winning all their games leading to the finals but lost to Zambia.

Ubank were involved in making the event successful one in Southern Africa that was hosted at Moruleng and Mogwase Stadium respectively outside Rustenburg in the North West province.

“As ubank, we operate branches in the Gold and Platinum mining sector. Because the tournament was being hosted in the North West province, we thought it would be relevant for us to participate; ”

“plus the sector that we service have a great affinity to the football game. We have contractually agreed with COSAFA that we would participate in the recently completed U/20 championship and the Senior Tournament, which will be held around June 2017.”

“We are looking to offer our products and services via digital from early January 2017.”

“After this step, we would be looking for opportunities that would allow us to promote the bank and its services beyond our current mining base.”

” Ubank still for the miners Yes, our core customer, that we value and service, are in the gold and platinum mining sector, but we also service their diaspora areas of the Eastern Cape with about 12 branches stretching from Butterworth in the East to as far as Matatiele and Lusikisiki. As I mentioned earlier though, we are looking to make our offering available to a wider, open market outside mining.”

” The tournament was well organized, all the matches kicked off on schedule. The attendances could have been better, but I guess the time of the year (December 2016) may have affected the crowd attendance. ”

” The absence of our national broadcaster was quite conspicuous – we hope they will see future tournaments like this as part of their mandate to bring local content to SA household. ”

” Football still a good medium to assist in activating brands, were we believe it’s our strength as most of our customers in mining sector are soccer loving people, “concludes ubank head of Marketing Mr Max Modise
