The club from the Eastern Cape have enjoyed their start of the 2016/2017 season campaign with a 100% win streak.

The Chilli Boys registered their first league win over Free State Stars in front of their home fans.

Four days later they traveled to Rustenburg to play their MTN8 quarter-final match against a stubborn Platinum Stars and made it off with a win.

The club was busy in the transfer window as they lost a couple of key players from last season squad. The likes of William Twala now with Kaizer Chiefs, Xola Mlambo of BidVest were all lost and the club made quite good signings as well.

The Chilli Boys brought in the likes Bongani “Drogba” Ndulula from Kaizer Chiefs and Linda “Tsiki” Shiba from Polokwane City whom previously worked under Malesela at Garankuwa United on a loan deal from Orlando Pirates.

The club has enjoyed themselves under the ever score walk coach in Dan Malesela who took the club from a relegation position into the top 8 in the 2015/2016 season and the club made an intention to keep him at the club by rewarding with a two-year contract extension.

Their flair and style of play has made their supporters come in numbers to watch the club when playing at home.

They have recently been enjoying a massive following away from home and that was evident in their Wafa-Wafa match against Platinum Stars.

Club owner Chippa Mpengesi is enjoying the fruits of hard work after leading the club back to the ABSA Premiership and has made the Eastern Cape community a happy community in bringing the club to the elite league.
