The opening match of the 2016 Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN) between host Rwanda and Cote d’Ivoire.

The much awaited Group A encounter will take place on Saturday, 16 October 2016 at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali at 15H00 local time (13H00 GMT).

Malagasy referee Hamada El Moussa Nampiandraza has been appointed for the opening match of the 2016 Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN) between host Rwanda and Cote d’Ivoire.

It will be the successive high profile game for the 31-year old Malagasy, who also supervised the final match during the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations between Nigeria and Algeria last month in Dakar, Senegal.

The shy-looking Nampiandraza will be assisted by Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue of Cameroon and South African Mothibidi Stevens Khumalo. Ali Lemghaifry of Mauritania is the fourth official.

The second match of the opening day between Gabon and Morocco will be handled by Ghanaian Joseph Odartei Lamptey, with compatriot David Laryea and Marwa Range of Kenya assisting him. The fourth official is Kenyan Davies Ogenche Omweno, in what completes a Ghana-Kenya combination.

A total of 368 players from the 16 participating teams have been registered for the fourth edition of the Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN) Rwanda 2016. The deadline for the submission of squad list was 6 January 2016.
