PSL : Buccaneers aim at downing Baroka

Orlando Pirates travel away to face a nemesis Polokwane outfit Baroka FC in an ABSA Premiership encounter at Peter Mokaba in Polokwane tonight at 19:30.

The hosts played a draw in their league opener in their hometown derby against Polokwane City. While Pirates are fresh from a good start to the season after beating Chippa United 1-0 at home to give their fans high expectations.

The two clubs produced two draws last season. Baroka FC goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke stunned the Buccaneers at home at the dying minutes of the game when he scored an overhead kick that leveled the score to one all. His goal was contender for the PSL Goal of the season.

Pirates have assembled a new technical team and new coach Micho will look to make it two in row to start the year on a high note. He will look up to the like of new club captain Thabo Matlaba and new recruit Innocent Maela to provide the much needed fire to penetrate the Baroka defense with Thamsanqa Gabuza to convert the chances created. Thamsanqa Sangweni and Shitolo will lead the midfielder and Wayne Sandilands to lead from the back after having a sterling game against Chippa United.

Baroka coach Thobejane expressed that they are lookin forward to the encounter and will not respect the Buccaneers. He will look up to the likes of Soweto born star Sipho Moeti to produce the much more needed magic and trouble the Pirates defense marshaled by Bafana Bafana defender Abbubaker Mobara and Nyauza. He furthermore expressed that the club need to start collecting points early in the season to avoid a relegation scare.
