Banyana qualifies for Rio Olympics 2016
The South African Senior Women’s National Team, Banyana Banyana, has qualified for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
Jermaine Seoposenwe’s goal in the 62nd minute put the visitors ahead against the home side Equatorial Guinea in a hard-hard second leg battle at Estadio de Bata. The goal was enough to see the Banyana Banyana through to Rio in Brazil.
Equatorial Guinea threw everything at South Africa but the defense stood resolute and managed to keep the lead.
The goal scorer stated that it was a team and expressed her happiness about scoring.
Banyana Banyana are currently on their way home and are expected to arrive in South Africa at 04:00 on Monday, October 19.
