ABC : JDR Stars clinch the ABC Motsepe League title

JDR Stars held Alexandra United to a goalless to be Crowned the Champions of Gauteng ABC Motsepe League season 2015/2016 on Saturday afternoon at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria .

On their third season in the ABC Motsepe League , the Hammer Boys secured the spot in the Promotional play-offs  in Free state later this year .

Needing a draw in the final match against Alexandra United to ensure top spot, the Pretoria side consolidated their position on top of log standing.

JDR Stars broke the record on the most wins in a row in the second round of the season.

The Hammer Boys won 14 games and drawn 3 matches in the second round of the season.

JDR Stars coach said “We played well and our plan worked to perfection today a well done to my boys “.

He continued saying that “We going to play-offs to win and I know what’s needed having been there last year with African All Stars “.

JDR Stars goalkeeper Bongani Manavhela said “my experience of being to the play-offs with Mbombela United last year and win it will help the team and the guys to know what to expect “.

Bongani Manavhela returned to JDR Stars for the second stint after promoting Mbombela United to National First Division last year.

In the National first division got frustrated for not playing and decided to rejoin his former team JDR Stars in the January transfer.

The experienced goalkeeper brought stability to the team defence, as the last line of defence Bongi Manavhele lead from the back.
