2016 CAF Champions League Draw |
South African clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundows, will be taking part in the 2016 CAF Champions League next season. The draw was made and Amakhosi as Chiefs are known were drawn against Comoros-based Volcan de Moroni in their first 2016 CAF Champions League tie, while Mamelodi Sundowns will travel to Zimbabwe to play Chicken Inn.
Amakhosi and Bafana Ba Style will play away from home in the first legs and with the return legs to be held in South Africa. The first round of CAF fixtures in 2016 will take place on the 12th to 14th of February, with the CCL group stage qualifiers being decided after three rounds by the end of April.
Kaizer Chiefs qualified for the continental club tournament after winning the 2014/15 Absa Premiership title, while Sundowns will participate after finishing second. Both clubs are looking to emulate Orlando Pirates and make it the continental tournament finals.
